DRAFT PLACEHOLDER

Privacy Policy

This is a temporary pre-launch document used to test LANE's sign-up and legal-document links. It is not the final legal text and must be reviewed before public launch.

Information LANE may use

LANE currently uses account and authentication details, profile information, activity and participation data, community membership, messages, notification preferences, safety reports and blocking data where relevant to the service.

Location

Location is optional in onboarding. Location search uses Google Places through LANE's server-side integration. The area shown on a profile is deliberately approximate. LANE does not show an exact address, exact GPS position or live location to other members. The final policy will describe precisely which location data is retained and which is only used transiently.

Who can see profile information

Member profiles are visible to other authenticated LANE members, subject to blocking and privacy settings. Location, Sports including associated levels, and Communities can each be shown or hidden from the profile. These controls default to visible and are enforced in the member-profile data path as well as in the interface. Past-activity participation count remains visible. Name, profile photo where provided, bio and languages do not currently have separate visibility controls.

Activities and communities

Profile visibility settings only control the member profile. Participation or membership may still be visible inside the relevant activity or community where that context shows participants or members. Hiding profile information does not necessarily delete the underlying data or prevent LANE from using it for service functionality.

Notifications

Members can manage Activity updates, Activity reminders, New community activities and LANE updates. These preferences are saved and applied when notifications are generated. Essential account, safety and critical participation notifications may still be sent when necessary.

Third-party services

The final policy will identify the infrastructure, authentication, location, hosting, email and any analytics providers that process personal data for LANE.

Your rights and data retention

The final Privacy Policy will explain retention and deletion, user rights, contact details, legal bases for processing, international transfers where relevant and how requests can be made.
